12-16-12 Pastor Mike Downie – Annual Christmas Program

Dear Cedarcreeker,

This Sunday December 16th remember only 1 service at 10:45am!!! This is Cedarcreek’s Annual Christmas Program. Many churches have a kids program on a Sunday evening. We like to make it special by having it a part of the regular service. Sometimes for those of us without kids participating, it is easy to think that this is just for those families with kids. It is not! It can also seem like an inconvenience to those of you who like going to the 9am service. But one thing we have tried to do at Cedarcreek is to build a family atmosphere as a church. Paul says that the church is a spiritual family:

“Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers” Galatians 6:10 NIV

We have to view this program like an extended family gathering to eat, to open presents and watch the kids open presents on Christmas Eve. It is a family event for all. This year we are doing something new. Mike Downie will gather the children on the stage and give a kid’s message. But it will be a message that we adults can also take to heart. So I hope that you can join us this Sunday at 10:45am!
