Greetings,

This Sunday, I will continue telling the story of the romance between Ruth and Boaz. The series is called How Love Grows in Marriage. This week we will see how the thing that attracted them to each other was their kindness. Marital love grows in the rich soil of kindness.

Here is what the Scriptures say about kindness:

• God -“The Lord is righteous in all His ways and kind in all His deeds.” † Psalm 145:17
• The desirable man – “What is desirable in a man is his kindness” † Proverbs 19:22
• The godly woman – “She opens her mouth in wisdom and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.” † Proverbs 31:26

If you would like to give further thought to this Sunday’s topic, meditate on the following questions:

• What is kindness? What kinds of words or actions express kindness to you?
• How did Ruth demonstrate kindness to Naomi? Ruth 2:10-11
• How did Boaz demonstrate kindness to Ruth? Ruth 2:8-16
• How did Naomi demonstrate kindness to Ruth? Ruth 3:1-5
• How did Ruth demonstrate kindness to Boaz? Ruth 3:10-11
