04-21-13 Pastor Dave Lennander – Celebrating the Spirit of God
April 19th, 2013
Dear Cedarcreeker:
It is good to be back from my trip to Berlin in which I and Mark darling spent time with the leaders and saints of Rock Berlin. We go periodically to coach and encourage the church to stay true to our Lord Jesus and to share the gospel. It is a privilege to be able to continue to serve God in this way and I thank the leaders at Great Commission Northlands for providing the financial resources to make this trip.
This Sunday April 21st is a very special one for me. I will have come to my 30th anniversary of being appointed as a pastor of Cedarcreek. I am deeply humbled that the Spirit of God has helped me to remain faithful and persevere over this time. I am truly grateful for so many of you to have partnered with me over the years to bring God glory by building a local church in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. For the message, I will share on 3 lessons that God has been teaching me over these past 30 years:
- It is not about me – it is about “Christ in me” (Christ is Supreme)
- It is not about my success – it is about helping others to succeed (Loving People)
- It is not about me – it is about “Us” (Unity & Team Work)
I have also turned 60 years old at the beginning of April. I feel that these dates are two big milestones in my life. I feel sheepish about having a focus on me. I have always tended to want to “fade into the background” when in a group of people. But my prayer for this Sunday is a verse that I recently read in a quiet time:
And they were glorifying God because of me. – Galatians 1:24 (NASB)
To celebrate these milestones, Sandy and I decided to feed as many of you as want to stay following the second service or come back if you attended first service (Noon). We hope that you can join us in thanking God together for His incredible faithfulness and grace over these years.
You can listen to the following worship songs to prepare your heart for Sunday:
How He Loves
In Christ Alone
Christ is Risen

Glorious Day
