A Conclusion to 1 Thessalonians – 03.10.2013

03-10-13 Pastor Rob Gerber – 1 Thessalonians

This Sunday, March 10th, at 9am and 10:45am, Rob will conclude our series in the Book of I Thessalonians. He will primarily share on the following verse:

1 Thessalonians 5:23 (ESV)
“Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Paul in this passage summarizes the book in a prayer reminder. He has just encouraged them to look forward to the coming of our Lord Jesus. He reminds them that a work of the gospel is to sanctify them. He asks the Lord that they might be kept blameless in spirit, soul and body. He anticipates their final and complete sanctification at the coming of the Lord.

This Sunday, I will be sharing about my experiences in the California desert seeking God through solitude and fasting at the Coulee Rock service. I will share it the following Sunday March 17th here at Cedarcreek. The longer I reflect on that time in the desert, the deeper the impact that I realize it had on me.

The worship songs this week are below:

  • We Will Seek You First
  • Before
  • I Cry Out
  • Your Grace Is Enough
  • Sweetly Broken

Sandy and I watched the first week of “The Bible” on the History Channel. We were impressed with how closely they followed the Scriptures. This series has been well received in the Christian Community. It gives a nice overview of the Bible in a moving story form. Here is a link of a review. If you get a chance to watch it, I would encourage you to do so.
