11-25-12 Pastor Dave Lennander – An Attitude of Gratitude
November 21st, 2012
Dear Cedarcreeker,
A few quotes to stir your hearts to thanksgiving:
“We would worry less if we praised more. Thanksgiving is the enemy of discontent and dissatisfaction.” H. A. Ironside
“The things we take for granted are dreams to many people.” Author Unknown
“It is the duty of all nations to acknowledge the providence of Almighty God, to obey His will, and to be grateful for His benefits.” George Washington
“The Pilgrims made seven times more graves than huts. No Americans have been more impoverished than these who, nevertheless, set aside a day of thanksgiving.” H. U. Westermayer
“The optimist says ‘The cup is half full.’ The pessimist says, ‘The cup is half empty.’ The child of God says ‘My cup runneth over.'” Anonymous
“We ought to give thanks for all fortune: if it is good, because it is good, if bad, because it works in us patience, humility and the contempt of this world and the hope of our eternal country.” C. S. Lewis
“In everything give thanks for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”
1 Thessalonians 5:18
This Sunday November 25th, I will be teaching on the subject of gratitude. Gratitude is more of an attitude than it is an action. Thanksgiving is an action. One spurs the other on. We will look at some ways to develop a grateful heart. I hope that you can join us.
I hope that this Thanksgiving holiday will produce in you an attitude of gratitude that extends throughout this coming year.
Pastor Dave
