07-02-12 Deacon Jason Kanz – Character in the Midst of Chaos

Greetings,

It is good to be home from the deep south. The day I left Alabama, the temperature was pushing 100 degrees! Wisconsin felt cool at 88! There were many amazing places I toured and many amazing first hand accounts I listened to on my journey to Selma, Montgomery and Birmingham. I found the depravity of man to be deep and the sin of this fallen world to be ugly. The courage of the foot-soldiers to march and face fire hoses that broke skin and large dogs with terrorizing fangs was far beyond any level of courage I have experienced. The world is full of chaotic sin as mankind goes further and further from the righteousness of Christ. The pattern we see in Judges during our summer series is continuing around us daily. I have been learning so much in our study of the Judges and I hope you have been as well.

This Sunday, Jason Kanz will share with us part 2 of the story of Gideon. We have already seen how the angel of the Lord called Gideon and that he was struggling to have faith to believe in that calling of the Lord. Yet, God was patient with Gideon and used him even in his weakness. After listening to part 1 from Jason online, I am very excited to hear what he has to say this Sunday!
