06-03-12 Pastor Rob Gerber – Character in the Midst of Chaos
Dear Cedarcreeker,
I meditated on a great verse yesterday that was a big encouragement to me.
“As pressure and stress bear down on me, I find joy in your commands.” Psalm 119:139
When life “ramps up”, it is easy to feel lots of pressure and stress. But God’s word is what gives us joy and grounds us to what is true and eternal in the midst of our difficulties.
For those of you who were not in the service last Sunday, Sandy and I announced that we were going to spend the summer in La Crosse helping out our daughter church – Coulee Rock. We will be moving down next Friday June 8th to teach, to serve and to help in any way we can for June through August. We will be renting a small apartment from the Toltzman’s. and getting involved in church life and reaching out. Mike Downie will be on staff here at Cedarcreek to fill in for me. This situation will give him valuable training and help share the pastoral load with Rob. If you have any questions, please feel free to talk to Rob, Sandy or myself. We will miss you all!
This Sunday June 3rd, 2012 at 10am, Rob will continue the summer series, “Character in the Midst of Chaos”. He will be teaching on a man named Ehud whom God used to deliver His people. Don’t forget, following the service we will have our first summer picnic at Altoona Beach County Park. The plan is simple bring meat to grill and a dish to pass along with some utensils.
